South Essex has some of the hardest water in the country. SS7 postcodes sit around 319 parts per million and Basildon runs higher at roughly 335. Anything above 200 ppm counts as hard.
That's not a minor detail. Scale coats the inside of pipework, seizes taps and blocks shower heads, and it builds a layer on every heat exchanger it touches. The Carbon Trust puts just 1mm of that scale at around 7% more energy used, which is money leaving through your boiler every month before anything actually breaks.

Basildon
Harder still at around 335 ppm, with a lot of 1970s housing running original pipework that's had five decades of that water through it. One of our busiest areas.
Rayleigh
Semis and detached houses, plenty still on older systems. We cover Rayleigh, Hockley, Rochford and Hullbridge.
Southend
Leigh-on-Sea through to Westcliff and Thorpe Bay, plus a lot of pre-1919 stock in Westcliff and Southchurch, much of it subdivided into flats with pipework that was never designed for it. Salt-laden estuary air also corrodes external pipework faster within a few streets of the seafront.
